EPHIPHANY MUCH?

I had an epiphany: I've been living in a place on the New Orleans campus that is basically just a room with a bunk bed, waiting for the dorms to be completed. There is a refrigerator in the room, but no way to cook. Pretty much, my roommate Aaron and I have been eating sandwiches every day, except for Sundays and Wednesdays when we eat at church or when our wonderful friends Matt and Jacque invite us over. Every now and then (OK like every day) we make jokes and complain about having to eat so many sandwiches. Last week for my Old Testament class I had to read through Exodus and Leviticus. While I was reading I realized something: The Israelites ate manna for FORTY YEARS; I really shouldn't complain about eating sandwiches all the time. At least I can choose between ham, turkey, or roast beef and I can choose white or wheat bread.

In other news, I am flying to Richmond, VA tomorrow (Friday morning) to lead some students in worship. I'll be back Saturday afternoon, so it will make for a short trip. I will be back in plenty of time to take a nap and then watch the Hogs play USC.

Also, I buckled down and bought a new guitar. It is a Taylor 414 CE model, and I absolutely love it! I haven't named her yet, but if anyone wants to make suggestions I will take them and consider what you have to offer.

One last thing: I started working at the coffee shop on campus and it is really fun. I got a $10.00 tip today, so that was cool. Actually, I just made that up because we don't even get tips, but the pay is good and I get all the coffee I want.

Peace out from the Big Easy. Word to your mother.

Life is good. That is all I can say. I just recently moved to The Big Easy, otherwise known as New Orleans. I started classes on Wednesday and I really like my schedule. Oh, did I mention that life is good? That God provides? That He takes care of you even when you  aren't sure how things are gonna turn out? Well He does. And He will continue to as long as you are faithful to following His will.

Just started week 5 in Mobile. I can't believe half the summer is already over! Before too long camp will be done and I'll be heading back to Fayetteville! I have to savor every moment of it. This week we have about 315 campers, most from FL, MS, and GA. I think it is going to be a really good week. We played a new song this week called "Salvation is Here". It really rocks and is very powerful.

We just finished Week 1 of camp in Mobile, and it went really well for the first week. I broke my guitar during training week though, and it cannot be repaired. Kind of a bummer, I know. I will post pictures sometime. Anyways, I've been borrowing a Larave from a guy here on campus. It sounds ok, but man do I miss my Martin. I'll be looking to get a new one soon, but I may wait until the summer is over to buy.

Tomorrow starts Week 2, and I am already pumped for it. Our numbers are around 300, which is pretty good, especially considering there are only 9 church registered. There is a church bringing 80! WOW! Last week we had a total of 240, but there were 19 churches. The biggest church was 22. This week will be very different from last, but we are ready for the challenge.

I love my staff of 21 and can't wait to see how the summer turns out. Peace out.

I've got two days left in wonderful Fayetteville, AR. I'm leaving on Wednesday to head to New Orleans where I will spend a couple of days, then off to Mobile on Saturday where I will be for 10 weeks. I'll then come home for about two weeks between camp and the start of school on the 16th of August.
